In order to re-build our front stair we have been forced by the preservationist technicians at the planning department to do a little research. The photo above is courtesy of the SF Public Library and was taken in the 70's. The only problem is that our entrance is on the second story and I have yet to find an Italianate facade with a second story entrance. However in the mean time I am expanding my knowledge of Italianate architecture and their presence in San Francisco.A couple more examples:
