Ikea Hacker - Bed Frame

(Above) I started with the Dalselv Bed from Ikea. However, I got it for $60 from Craigslist (Thanks Craig!)

I wanted to simplify the design so I took out the metal bars and some of the other wood pieces at the head. I then cut off the beveled edge detail on the top piece, put it all back together and painted it. I used Benjamin Moore paint which was $17 for a quart and I still have a lot left.

The bed (and Gus) put back together. I am very happy with the result, a nice clean look.
